PURPOSE OF THE INVENTION: The protrusion of the jaw and tongue are the most common abnormal oral-motor patterns in infants and children. These patterns occur with the onset of movement in children and are followed by protruding extensor muscles. This problem is common in children with cerebral palsy and causes a lack of speech production, swallowing and eating dysfunction, drooling, and other disorders. Usually, the best way to correct these actions is to help the child avoid the postures that cause the protrusion. In specific, maintaining the normal position of the child's head with the proper alignment of the chin prevents the protrusion of the tongue and jaw. In rehabilitation clinics such as occupational therapy, speech therapy, and physiotherapy centers, some exercises are given to the child to improve this condition, but all activities involve a practitioner. And there hasn't been a specific device to improve this condition of the child so far. The stimulation or vibration in current treatments are only hand-operated therapy, and a therapist must do all these exercises. On the other hand, this device is very well equipped and has several incentives and capabilities to strengthen the muscles. It can solve the problems of the child and the therapist. Plus, there is no need to visit the clinic several times a week. Families can buy this portable device at a reasonable price to exercise with the device at home under standard procedures. Moreover, because of the outbreak of COVID-19, patients will no longer need direct contact with a therapist. In manual therapies, the therapist may inject different forces into the child's muscles that are not standard and cause muscle damage, but the device has standard forces and currents. HOW DOES IT WORK: In order to use this device, the child should lean on it and maintain the device above their forehead and chin. It has two electrodes for electrical stimulation, which can help strengthen muscles through a specific functional faradic current. These electrodes are placed on the extensor muscles of the head and neck. This action will strengthen the muscles and improve the autonomic movements of the head and neck. Also, the vibrators are placed on the upper part of the shoulders and both sides of the neck. Additionally, the vibrators used in the device can generate heat, but if the child is sensitive, they can be used without heat. Furthermore, this device includes a belt with which the child can have the appropriate posture. WHAT WILL IT DO: This device can have many benefits for both the doctor and the patient, such as: o Controlling the functions of the lips, tongue, and jaw o Treating the protrusion of the jaw and tongue o Limiting the amount of opening of the jaw o Helping the child to maintain a closed mouth o Creating a proper body posture even without a therapist o Preventing head flexion and shoulder retraction o Reduction of general muscle tone without the presence of a therapist o Motivating the patient to work at home o Increasing upper extremity blood flow o Eliminating abnormal oral-motor patterns in infants and young children o Preventing the extensor muscles from protruding o Creating more natural movement patterns in children and normalizing these patterns o Maintaining and controlling the range of motion of the head, spine, and shoulders are possible without the presence of a therapist WHO CAN USE THIS: Many people with disabilities can use this device. But the people with the following conditions and use the invention to improve their well-being:  Children with cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and dysarthria  Children with extensor muscle protrusions  Children without controlling and maintaining a closed-mouth position  Children without normal head and neck movement patterns, upper extremity muscle weakness, poor sitting and standing balance spinal disc lesions  Children with jaw and tongue protrusion  People who need help with PNF exercises  People undergoing speech therapy, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy Moreover, this device can be used in hospitals and rehabilitation centers, clinics, and care centers for children with physical disabilities. CONCLUSION: After all, this device can prevent the protrusion of the extensor muscles and maintain and control the motion range of the head, the spine, and the shoulder joints in children, and can put the mind of many parents at ease. Also, it is worth mentioning that this invention has Gold award from India International innovation and invention expo 2021, Gold Medal Koahsiung international invention and design expo in Tiwan and scientific confirmation from Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences in IRAN & 2 article presentation from medical congress in Iran.
